Notification to the archbishop of York that the king has appointed his clerks Masters W. de Gloucestre and 8S. de Steland as his proctors in the matter of the election said to have been made in the church of Durham of the prior of Durham, which is being tried before the archbishop, between the king of the one part, and the prior and monks of Durham of the other part; with promise that whatever is adjudged shall be paid; and this is signified also to the other side. The king also ratifies what was done by the said proctors before the archbishop on the last day of the trial.
