Commission of oyer and terminer to William de Gosefeld, John de Chishull, Master Henry de Trippelowe and Roger de Louthe, on complaint by John, bishop of Ely, that when lately he caused a horse of Hamo de Ware to be distrained at Meldebourne, within the liberty of his church of Ely, by Edmund de Chevele, bailiff of the liberty, and there impounded by reason of a judgment in the court of the liberty, the said Hamo, and John, Thomas and Hamond, his sons, John Careles of Meldebourne, William de Baldok of Meldebourne, John Payn, John Person, John Pygaunt, the elder, John Pygaunt, the younger, William de Stoke, Haro son of William de Stoke, David son of William de Stoke, John de Caxton, Henry Smert, Jolin le Reve, Jordan Hoker, John Luriligg of Meldeburn, and others, broke his park and took away the horse, assaulted the bailiff, following him to Foxton, and there beat him, and carried away goods of the bishop.
