Mandate to cite before the pope Matthew, prior of Plympton, who refused to admit John de Holinp as canon of the same, tore up the papal letters ordering them to receive him, and threw them in his face. May. To Gilbert de Yarwellis, already dispensed on account of illegitimacy, and rector of Syberton. Reservation of a benefice in the gift of the bishop of Ely, value 15 marks; on obtaining this he is to resign Syberton. Concurrent mandate to the bishop of Norwich, the archdeacon of Winchester, and Walter de Yarwellis, canon of York. July. To John de Mitford. Provision of a canonry of Chichester, with reservation of a prebend; notwithstanding that he is rector of Rustiton, in the same diocese. Concurrent mandate to the abbot of Westminster, John de Bruton, canon of Wells, and another named. July.
