Writ to the sheriff of Stafford. Kaernarvan. 8 July 12 Edward I. By chancellor. SUPPLEMENT. 607 in full county Thursday after the translation of St. Thomas 12 Edward I [13 July 1284] : John de Bispeston (Bischopeston imprisoned at Bruges came on Thursday before St. George 1284] to Colewich and met John de Kerecy (Kersy in writ) whom caused to be summoned before the chapter (ad capitulwm) for John de Kercy laid wait for him and shot two arrows at him, him as he fled through the middle of the left arm, and pursued him the wall of Colewich Churchyard and would have killed him. Karnarvan. 12 July 12 Edward I. by Sir Ralph Byrun, Sir Reynold de Sancto Martino and other le Burcer of Wython, imprisoned at Norwich for the death de Morref (Muref of Scotland in writ), killed him in self defence, William having assaulted William le Burcer with a knife so that he far as a marl-pit (merleram), and having then assaulted him again C. Henry went into an alehouse (tabernam at Haveringdowne on St. Laurence's day 12 Edward I [10 August 1284] to sit there in peace, and John came with insulting words and attacked a sword. Henry at once left the tavern followed by John, who arrows after him. He then put down his bow and drew his sword, kill Henry, who being unable otherwise to defend himself turned C. Ing. Misc. Inquisition at Colchester before Robert de Gynges, sheriff, on Wednesday the quinzaine of Easter 18 Edward I [4 April 1285] : Robert de Coke Robert de Ho, his mate (socius), mariners of Sandwich, came by ship Bradfelt on the sea (in mari) to buy oysters, as did also William le White, his son, John Sweteppel, John de Risinge, Alan Gabbe, Thomas Page, Shipman, Ellis le Hore, Peter de Northou and Henry Snellinge, of Gernemewe. A quarrel arose because Robert and his mate tried buy oysters before William and the others, who then with some persons assaulted them and killed Robert on Tuesday before St. Valentine s [13 February 1285].
