Protection, without term, for the abbot and convent of Battle. To W. archbishop of York, and W. de Cantilupo. Whereas the king is bound to provide for Simon Passelewe, king's clerk, in an ecclesiastical benefice in the king's gift of the value of 40 or 50 marks or more but has been at other times prevented from promoting him, he commands them on no account to omit to provide such for him at the first opportunity notwithstanding any provision made for any other person.
