Confirmation of a charter, which the king has inspected, whereby Margaret Winchelsea. de Ros, tenant in chief, granted in fee simple to William de Ros, her son, who is staving in Gascony on the king's service, the castle of Kirkeby in Kendall, with the demesnes there, two parks, two stews, a meadow and mill of a vivary, with 45 acres of the demesnes of Helsington adjoining the town of Kirkeby, with the hamlets of Skathwaytrigg, Hoton, Haya, Stirkland Randolph, with the meadow of Laythild and Grenerigg, with the tenements which William son of Adam and Henry de Wychfalheved hold in TWogayl, with the mills of the said hamlets, and also the mills of Patton, Pylacre, and a moiety of the mill of Rispeton, and a moiety of the fees, rents and services of free men appertaining to the said Margaret of the inheritance of Peter de Brus, her brother, with the advowson of the hospital of St. Leonard's by Haye, Severgh, Threlesgrope, Mountiowe, and Brendewode.
