Licence for the alienation in mortmain by Nicholas de Fangefosse to the keeper of the house of vicars and the vicars of the church of St. Peter, York, in part satisfaction of the 10 marks yearly of land and rent which they have the kiny s licence to acquire, of a messuage in York which is held of the king by the yearly service of 2d. as husgable by the hands of the mayor and bailiffs of the city, and i3 of the yearly value of 20s. as appears by the inquisition returned by John de Louthre, king's clerk, escheator in the counties of York, Northumberlund, Cumberland and Westmoreland ; reserving the services due to the king and other chief lords of the fee.
