Inspeximus and confirmation to the burgesses of Liskereth of the charters : (1) Of Richard, earl of Poictou and Cornwall, dated London, 5 June, 24 Henry IIL, constitating it s free borough and the burgesses freemen, with all the liberties and free customs granted to the burgesses of Layst and Hellistun , Witnesses: Andrew de Cantell , Baldewin de Betun , Richard de Turre, Giles de Cantell , John Brytasche, William de Yrebi, Nicholas de Anna, clerk, Robert de Esthalle, clerk. (2) Of Richard, king of the Romans (the same person), dated Gyppeham, 18 April 1266, granting them a fair lasting three days at the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin, in addition to the fair at the feast of St. Matthew. Witnesses: Philip de Bodrygan, Ralph de Heauton, knights, William de Tregrille, William de Cructucher, John de Greynes. (3) Of Edmund, earl of Cornwall, dated Lanceneton, 11 September, 3 Edward L, granting them in fee farm their borough of Liskereth, with the rent thereof, and the mills of Bodgara and Lomulle (Lemallyon), and all their multure, together with the mount of Bodgara, with the meadows appertaining to the said mill and mount, with the tolls of market and fuir, and all fines, pleas, and perquisites belonging to the king, except pleas of the crown, st the yearly rent of 182., payable to his steward of Cornwall, saving to the crown the right of tallage whenever tallage is imposed on other cities and boroughs; granting also that no bailiff of the kin, shall enter the borough for the pleading of pleas of the borough except for their default, and that they may raise and construct other mills, at their own expense, at Bodgara, provided they keep them and those before named in good repair.
