to John Basynges, Simon Warde, sheriff of Rutland, Walter Scarle to make inquisition in the said county touching by the alien prior of Weston St. Edith, to whom the king committed the keeping of the priory at a certain farm, that tenants of the priory, leagued together in a confederacy, refuse do the services due from them for their tenures, which they and ancestors have done time out of mind, entered the free warren which pertains to the king by reason of the priory being in his hand and is in the prior's keeping, hunted therein without licence and carried away hares, conies, pheasants and partidges, so that the prior cannot pay his farm at the fixed terms.
