Whereas the king lately granted a licence, after inquisition ad quod damnum made by the sheriffs of London, for the alienation in mortmain by Nicholas Husebond, chaplain, of 3 messuages and 8 shops in the parish of St. Sepulchre without Neugate, London, to the dean and chapter of the church of St. Paul, London, although it would be to his prejudice and to that of the citizens of the said city as is already set forth. The king now grants licence to the said Nicholas Husebond, upon supplication made by him, to alienate in mortmain the same messuages and shops to the prior and convent of St. Bartholomew, Smythfeld, to find a chaplain, a canon of the same convent, to celebrate divine service daily and to do other pious works in the church of St. Sepulchre without London, and another chaplain in the church of St. Paul, London, for his soul and the souls of his predecessors and of all Christians, according as he shall ordain.
