Mandate to inform themselves touching the collegiate church of Boseham, founded by the REGESTA, VOL. LXV. king's progenitors, and to which, as a royal chapel, the bishops of Exeter, as the king's chaplains, appointed prebendaries ; the bishop and archdeacon of Chichester objecting to this exemption from their jurisdiction, and interfering with the bishop of Exeter, the king prays that the churches of Boseham and Chudean, with their chapels, clergy, and people, may be declared royal free chapels, and exempted from the jurisdiction of the bishop and archdeacon of Chichester.
