Confirmation, with exemplification, of the ratification by Henry, prior, and the chapter of Canterbury, dated 1 Jan. 1316[-7], of the confirmation by archbishop Walter, dated Lambith, 16 Dec. 1316, of the acceptance by Henry de Langele, prior of Holy Trinity, and the chapter of Norwich, dated Norwich, Non. Oct, 1316, of the ordinance made by John, bishop of Norwich, dated Northelinham, 4 Non. Oct. 1316, touching the chapel of St. John the Evangelist, in the west part of the cathedral founded by him, to be served by four priests to pray for his soul and that of his parents, Solomon and Amice, and for the souls of his predecessors and successors in the see. The church of Westhale is appropriated to the said chapel, and the vicar s portion is to consist of the oblations, mortuary fees, and small tithes of the said church, those, namely, of wool, milk, lainbs, calves, pigs, geese, fowls, eggs, doves, bees, fisheries, turbaries, mills, woods and copses, flax, hemp, garden and orchard fruit, and other customary tithes and glebe, except the piece called Schepecotelond, on the west of the church, across the public road, containing above three acres, the north side of which abuts on the pasture of the said church, and the other on the land of Thomas Dane of Westbale; this piece of land is given, ele . 1 JOHN XXIt. 141 the prior and convent as rectors of the said church, with other particulars touching the said church and chapel, and the services to be performed therein, and the allowances to the the principal of whom is to have 6 marks a year, and the others 16 between them. Concurrent mandate to Master Peter Fabbri, canon of Beauvais, papal notary, the archdeacon of Winchester, and Master Richard de Stanhouue, canon of Chichester. William de Birstone, archdeacon of Gloucester, is made a 3 waa chaplain. To Henry de Stachesdene. Provision, at the request of Aymer de Valentia, earl of Pembroke, whose chaplain he is, -of a canonry of Wells, with reservation of a prebend, notwithstanding that he has the rectory of Newenton, value 30 marks, and the chapels of Baduransfeld, value 100s. and St. Gemina, yalue 12 pounds of Paris, in the dioceses of Worcester, Norwich, and Soissons. Concurrent mandate to the bishop of Ely, the archdeacon of Winchester, and Gilbert de Brueria, canon of Chichester. To Jordan Moraundi. Provision, at the request of Aymer de Valentia, earl of Pembroke, of a canonry of Salisbury, with reservation of a prebend, notwithstanding that he is treasurer of Wells, canon and prebendary of Chichester, and rector of _ Northiham and Haluytheley, in the dioceses of Chichester and London. Concurrent mandate to the bishop of Chichester, Master Bertrand de Mediolano, papal chaplain, and Robert de Baldock, canon of London. To Simon de Ely.
