Writ to the sheriff of Cambridge to enquire who forcibly (hostiliter) the house of Beatrice, late the wife of William Tholom , carried off therein, and forcibly expelled (violenter exire compulerunt) Beatrice a window, so that she died of a broken leg, and to take and imprison persons and those who harbour them. Geudeford. 18 September III [1251.] upon Richard son of Ralph de Flete and Richard le Deye, at Wysebech for the death of Beatrice late wife of William Tolimer : and Richard were accused of the said death of hatred and malice et atya), because there was always strife, in the court of the bishop of elsewhere, between Beatrice and Walter Tolimer her son, on the one and the aforesaid Richard son of Ralph de Flete, and Richard le Deye and Ralph de Flete, Richard's father, on the other, about divers (essewiciis) and water courses leading to (versus) the sea and the marsh ; they are not guilty. But Simon le Pinkewrbitte of Leverington and le Chamberleng of the same in the county of Cambridge, and Ralph de Robert son of Ralph de Flete, John Hol of Spaldinges, and John Gene same in the county of Lincoln, are guilty. They fled the country afterwards and never came back, nor is it known where they C. Crim. Ing. File 1. (8.) Inquisition as to the outlawry of Roger de Grey. was outlawed by virtue of a writ dated Windsor, 4 May 32 Henry IIT directed to the sheriff of Bucks bidding him attach Roger by his body have him before the king when called upon, because he did not appear the justices last in eyre, and if he could not be found to cause him to (interrogar?) and outlawed, and to report the names of any who him. He was accordingly exacted, and failing to appear at the county court, outlawed. The jury does not know of any felony against Inquisition [by an Essex jury] whether Ralph le Brock, outlawed death of Roger le Larer , killed him by misadventure or feloniously : him by misadventure: Ralph was woodward of the prior of wood in Purle by the king's appointment (per dominum regem) ; Roger cutting oak-boughs in the wood, and wanted to attach him devadiare), Roger fled, and Ralph, in pursuing him, struck him on with an axe, so that he died the sixth day after: but it is believed of debility (magis propter infirmitatem) than of the wound. [1252.] : John was outlawed both on suspicion of burglary of a house and for the slaying of a child (cujusdam pueri) in the same house, (retraxit se) during the last eyre in Lincolnshire.
