Richard de Kaynes held of Simon de Monte Forti, sometime earl of 2 knights fees of the honour of Leicester of the yearly value of in Selmeston, Iteford, and Horsted Kaynes, and after the forfeiture of the earl attorned to King Henry III for his homage and service; he was by Joan, his daughter and heir, who married Roger de Leukenore ; de Leukenore, their son and heir, succeeded them, and now holds the fees, and has attorned to the present king for his homage. John de Mucegros held of the said earl a knight's fee of the yearly value 101. in Shefeld, Little Horstede, Hyndedale, and Charlaxton; he died heir tail, and the fee descended to Agatha his sister and heir, who Walter de Ratingden, who after the gift thereof made to Sir Edmund, king's brother, attorned to him for his homage; the said Walter and had issue John de Ratingden, their son and heir, who now holds the of Thomas the present earl [of Lancaster]. Nicholas de Sancto Mauro holds a knight's fee of the yearly value of 81. Thomas de Aldham held of the said earl Simon a knight's fee of the yearly of 100s. in Torringge, and after the forfeiture of the said earl attorned King Henry III and the present king; he was succeeded by Baldwin, son and heir, who attorned to the present king, and afterwards enfeoffed John de Nevill, who had seisin and enfeoffed the said Baldwin and his wife to hold to them and the heirs of the said Baldwin; the Nicholaa survived the said Baldwin and now holds the fee by the said of the inheritance of Francis, son and heir of the said Baldwin, who in the king's wardship ; none of them attorned to Sir Edmund or to the earl.
