Writ of privy seal to the sheriff and coroners of the county of Carlaverok. 29 August 28 Edward I. French. Inquisition : Monday before St. Nicholas 29 Edward I. [1300.] Alexander son of Adam de Hethelegh was in the house of Isolda sister of de Wodehusum of Crofton, when the said William came and assaulted with a drawn dagger, wishing to kill him; the said Alexander in self took an axe and struck the said William on the head, whereof he C. Ing. Misc. File 59. (21.) 1830.
