The ancestors of the prior acquired the manor from the of Thoars by exchange, confirmed by King Henry III, saving to the the custody of the manor during voidance of the priory. manor is of the yearly value of 161. 13s. Tuesday after St. Matthew. manor of Horsleye was taken into the king's hand on Saturday the St. Peter and St. Paul, by reason of the death of the said prior, who the same in chief ; it is of the yearly value of 16/. 12s. 44d. [1298.] : Warwick. 19 November. have entered the fees or services belonging to the king in Cestre- Warwick, but Hugh de Loges held of King Richard 3 carucates of land and 14 virgates of land in villenage, in Cestreton, by the service serjeanty of keeping the king's forest of Cannok, of which serjeanty INQUISITIONS said Hugh in the time of the said King Richard alienated without licence de Bissopeston a messuage and 4 virgates of land, of which Nicholas of Overetyngdon holds for life a virgate, Richard Monerowe a messuage, Henry le Despenser a virgate of land for life of John de Fosse ; William half a virgate, Thomas le Foon half a virgate, and Thomas de for life half a virgate of Robert de Folrethygh, and William Francis a virgate. the said serjeanty descended to Hugh de Loges, who in the of King Henry III alienated without licence to Hugh de Loges the (postnato) a virgate of land, and a messuage and 4 virgates to Richard Lowe, and 4 messuages and 4 virgates in Radeweie to Alan de Morcote, which Richard Payn now holds 3 messuages and 3 virgates, and John le a messuage and a virgate. Afterwards what remained of the said descended to Richard de Loges, who in the time of the present alienated without licence to Robert le Harpour a virgate of land. the said alienated tenements have been taken into the king's hand the escheator.
