Writ to brother Robert de Valle Regali, escheator in co. Chester. Norham. May 19 Edward J. [1291.] Inquisition : Chester. Friday before St. John the Baptist. In the time of King Henry III the justice of Chester put a serjeant in the abbey during voidance, who had under him two keepers, one in the cellar the other at the gate.
