Writ to the sheriff of Lincoln. Kyngeston. 20 November Edward I. [1289.] Inquisition : Thomas de Portington and others (named) on Saturday after Exaltation of the Holy Cross 17 Edward I came to the house of Thomas Hothan at Ouneby, and broke the doors and entered and took away his and assaulted him and followed him to the house of Henry Caynot in the town and broke the doors of that house and entered. William de Wabrune hinders the leet of Henry Lumbard in Wabrune, he has of the king's gift during the minority of the heirs of Warin de deceased, to the damage of the said Henry of 20s. ; he impleaded son of Christiana and others (named), villeins of the said Henry in the of Hout, and in divers other courts, so that they were amerced 15s. the bailiff of the said hundred ; he hunted without licence in the warren the said Henry in Wabrune and took hares ; his greyhounds killed a sheep William son of Adam, villein of the said Henry, of the price of 12d.; he impleaded John son of Philip, villein of the said Henry, in the county Norfolk and in the hundred of Holt, so that the said John had damage of he unjustly took a horse of John son of Randolph in the said Henry's and kept it a day and a night ; he took from William Grut, villein of the Henry, a horse in Wabrune of the price of 3s., and 6 ells of blanket of price of 6s., and canvas to the value of 2s. 8d.; he procured that Bruna Revere was unjustly amerced 4s. in the hundred of Hout; he unjustly wreck, to wit, 12 pieces of lead of the price of 33s.; he unjustly a tunic of Maud Fung of the price of 12d.; he entered the house of John thrust him from his food, beat him with a stick, and took his horse of price of 4s., and kept it until the said John made a fine with him for 6d. : unjustly impleaded Thomas King, villein of the said Henry, in the court of Haven, until he paid 2s.; he stopped a common way in Wabrune leading Carwelle to the great nuisance of the whole town; he took the cart of MISCELLANEOUS 435 of Robert laden with barley of the price of 4s., and still unjustly C.
