Writ to the sheriff of Oxford. Witness, Edmund, earl of Cornwall. 23 June 15 Edward I. [1287.] Inquisition : No evildoers broke the doors of the manor of Badynton, is in the hand of Philip de Wyleby, the king's clerk, or carried away therefrom. Inquisition in the court of William de Valencia. Bampton. Osbert Clyffard, bringing his wife with him, came to the town of Stanlake ejected John Gylle from his house, and seized his wife together with the house; then he went away but the lady remained in seisin of house from the first hour to midday and put John her palfreyman in her who remained in seisin for ten weeks, and sold pasture of 8 oxen for 4s. hay to the value of 17d., and took 5s. 8d. of rent.
