Commission to Robert de Burgherssh, warden of the Cinque Ports, appointing him to enquire by oath of merchants and others of Kent and of the liberty of the Cinque Ports what goods the merchants of St. Omer, Arras and Abbeville have in the city of Canterbury or any other places in Kent and the said liberty and in whose hands they are and how much they are worth, and to arrest the same ; and order to him to execute the premises secretly and cautiously and certify the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer hereon on the octave of Hilary next, and to apply such diligence that he cannot be blamed for negligence but that the king may commend his industry ; the king having ordered the sheriff and all bailiffs and ministers to be intendant herein.
