Order to Nicholas Fermbald, constable of Bristol castle, to deliver to Ropseld, brother of John de la Codraye, a messuage in which the constable took into the king's hand on account the death of John, who held the same in chief, and touching which altercation arose in the king's court between Maud, late the wife John, and the said Richard, Maud asserting the same to be her marriage and Richard alleging that John was seised thereof his demesne as of fee on the day of his death and that he is John's heir; it having been found by an inquisition taken before the on which Maud and Richard put themselves, that Richard's are true.
