Order to cause Joceus de Spaldyng to be discharged 50s. yearly for the custody of a messuage, 65 acres of land, 12 of meadow and lds. 7d. rent in Wyverton and Bernyston, co. which belonged to Hugh de Garthorp, deceased, tenant chief of the late king, and which were in that king's hands by reason the minority of William, Hugh's son and heir, from 8 June last, that answer is made to the king by Richard de Ty, parson Multon church, for 52s. yearly for that custody from the same day, by Joceus for any arrears due by him, as the late king, on 18 in the 12th year of his reign, granted that custody to Joceus to from the morrow of the close of Easter, then last past, until heir should come of age, so that Joceus should maintain the heir food, clothing and othertnecessaries during that custody and should 50s, as aforesaid; and the present king on the said 8 June that custody to Richard to hold during pleasure, so that should maintain the heir in food, clothing and other necessaries, and 52s. yearly at the exchequer.
