Order not to further with a messuage and one carucate of land in Syston, the issues thereof to the prior and convent of Wroxton, saving to the advowson of Syston church if it ought to pertain to him, as the the escheator to certify why he had taken into the king's hand of the said prior in Syston and Belton, and the escheator returned so took them because it was found by inquisition of office that the the said messuage and land and a mediety of the advowson said church of Adam Neel without licence after the publication of of mortmain, and the late king on 28 August, in the 11th year reign, granted that the prior and convent might acquire lands and the value of 100s. a year as well of their own fee as of another s, in chief excepted, notwithstanding the said statute, and afterwards in the 14th year of that reign, the said king gave licence to Neel of Pulteneye and to John his son to grant to the said prior and and to the prior and convent to receive and hold two messuages carucate of land in Syston and Belton, and the advowson of Syston which were not held in chief, and were then worth the messuage 18s. 4d., and the church 66s. 8d. yearly, as was found by taken by Richard de Rodeneye, then escheator this side Trent, satisfaction of the said 100s. of land and rent. .
