Cancelled on payment. William de Boyvill acknowledges in chancery that he owes to Queen Eleanor, the king's wife, 60 marks ; to be levied, in default of payment, of his lands and chattels in co. Leicester. It is said that Adam de Novo Mercato sent to Laurence de Brok by Henry Macy, his serjeant, 40s., for the liberation of two prisoners who were in Neugate for robbing merchants between Stamford and Walmesford, and they two, so delivered, ought to acquit Adam of 1001. against a Jew of London. Let an inquisition be made with great caution concerning this.
