Order to king's hand from the manor of Gapeton, co. Suffolk, and not to further therewith, restoring the issues thereof, as lately at the suit of the prior of Leyes showing that he had held the manor of John de Gernoun in frank almoin as of the foundation of the priory as all his predecessors had held it, and that William Trussell, late escheator this side Trent, and his ministers, pretending that the prior held the manor of the king by knight's service, distrained him for his fealty, the king ordered William to take an inquisition upon the matter, by which it is found that the prior holds the manor in frank almoin as aforesaid. By K. 2.
