To John de Alveton; escheator in cos. Southampton, Wilts, Oxford, Berks and Buckingham. Order to deliver to Joan late the wife of James de Wodestok the manor of Appelton, co. Berks, together with the issues thereof, as the king has learned by inquisition taken by the escheator, that James at his death held the said manor jointly with Joan, of the enfeoffment of Richard de la Mote, by the king's licence and that it is held in chief by the service of a knight's fee, and the king has semis the fealty of Joan for the said manor. :
