To the collectors of the custom of wool, hides and wool-fells in the port Chichester. Order to permit Richard Cryde, citizen of Chichester, to respite until Michaelmas next for payment of custom on his wool, so after fuller information has been taken the king may cause justice to be as he laded eight sarplars of wool in a ship of Sidlesham, in that port, before the exportation of wool was forbidden by proclamation, to be taken parts beyond the sea for his use, and he found security to pay the king custom due thereon on a certain day, and the ship was driven by sea to the port of Dover, and the wool was landed there, and the of wool in co. Kent took five sarplars thereof for the king's use, and remaining three sarplars are still in England, and custom is exacted the collectors as if the wool had been taken to the said parts. The king ordered the treasurer and barons of the exchequer to cause Richard to that respite. By C.
