To Thomas de Metham, escheator beyond Trent. Order to deliver to John de Lancastr[ia] of Holgill, the manor of Rydale, co. Westmoreland, and not to intermeddle further with certain tenements in Hoton, restoring the issues thereof, as the king has learned by inquisition taken by Jchn Moryn, late escheator beyond Trent, that Annora, late the wife of John de Lancastr[ia], held the manor with John for life by the grant of John de Lancastr[ia] of Holgill, by the late king's licence with remainder after their death to Roger de Lancastr[ia], for life, and then reversion to John of Holgill and his heirs, and the said tenements by the grant of John of Holgill, with lke remainder and reversion, and that Roger died 11 years ago, and John of Holgill is of full age, and that the manor is held in chief by the service of a fourth part of a knight's fee, and the tenements are held of others than the king; the king has taken the homage of John of Holgill.
