To the prior of Spaldyng. Order to cause the abbot of St. Nicholas, Angers, to have the pension due to him from that: house, if it is due, so that William Solis, his proctor in England, may answer to the king for the ferm which he owes for the custody of the possessions pertaining tq that abbey in England, as the king committed that custody to the proctor for rendering 56/. 13s. 4d. yearly, and now he has learned from the proctor s plaint that although a pension of 40/. yearly is due to the abbot from the house: at Spaldyng, and the proctor has several times requested it of the prior, yet the prior has delayed to pay it from the time that the said possessions were taken into the king's hands, whereupon the proctor has bescught the king to provide a remedy.
