To the mayor and sheriffs of London. Order to cause 87 cloths of Peter Sesayres of Arragon and of Benedict Ferrandes of Spain, merchants, taken by armed force upon the sea, in a ship of Spain, called a carrak, and brought to that city, to be restored to them, if it is found that Peter and Benedict are of Arragon and Spain, and that the cloth was taken away against their will, so that their plaint may not be repeated whereby the king ought to lay a heavier hand thereto, because it was agreed by the king and his council that all the goods of men of the duchy of Aquitaine, Spain, Portugal, Lombardy, and other friendly lands, which were taken, should be restored, and now the king has learned that the mayor and sheriffs have arrested the said cloth and have hitherto delayed to restore it, wherefore Peter and Benedict have besought the king to order it to be restored to them.
