the treasurer and barons of the exchequer, Dublin. Order to inspect and memoranda of that exchequer and if they find that Master de Epworth, second baron of that exchequer is bound to render for the times when he was receiver of certain of the king's moneys parts of Ulster and for other offices in Ireland accountable to the then to admit Nicholas de Snyterby to the office of second baron and him to exercise the duties of the office with them, notwithstanding of the office to William, and to compel William to render account at the exchequer, as although the king lately appointed to be second baron during good conduct, receiving the accustomed and ordered the treasurer and barons to admit him to that office, yet has learned that William is bound to render such accounts, and to postpone the rendering of these accounts from day to and as the king believes that William has procured his appointment office in order that he may more easily escape what the nature and of the account require, the ine has considered the faithful service of de Snyterby in whose place William was appointed, and whose conduct in the office is vouched for by credible testimony. It is intention that in appointments to such offices preference shall to those who know most and he therefore orders the treasurer and that when William has rendered his accounts and has satisfied them pertains to the king therefor, or has found security to do this, shall then admit to the said office of baron, the one of the two, or William, who is fittest for the office and who has more and they shall make an examination upon this with the aid of of the council whom they shall invite for this.
