John de Warenna, earl of Surrey and Sussex. Whereas the king he crossed the sea enjoined upon Edward, his son, certain things he desired (quedam nobis votiva) concerning him and his realm, which desired should be done, if possible, in the earl's presence: the orders him to hasten to his son whenever the said things require if the state of the parts of Scotland will permit. This he is not to omit as he loves the king and his honour and the profit his realm. the sheriff of Dorset.
