Inspeximus of a charter of Robert, advocate of Arras, lord of Bethun and Terremund, granting to Robert de Gisnes, his kinsman, for his homage and service, his manor of Geiton, 10/. which he used to have in the town of Thorp, 101. which he used to have of the abbot and convent of Faversham, and 9/. which he used to have of the abbot and convent of Winchecumbe, and whatever right he had in the lands, homages, services, rents and custodies of children throughout England; to hold freely and by inheritance, at a rent of one lance yearly, for all service and secular demand, saving the service due to the king. Witnesses : Sirs H. de Hastinges, 5. Lung , Alberic de Suleny, knights, Jeremiah the clerk, Richard de Clare, and many others. And confirmation of the same. Witnesses : H. de Boun, earl of Hereford, R. earl of Winchester, W. earl of Albemarle, John son of Geoffrey, H. de Vivona, Herbert son of Matthew, J. de Plessetis, Richard de Clifford and others.
