To L. prince of Aberfrau and lord of Snaudon. The king is sending him Amaury de Sancto Amando, the king's steward, with Henry de and John Lestrange to make amends for the attacks committed him and his against the truce. Mandate to the said Henry de Haldithele and John to go on Saturday Mid-Lent to meet Amaury at the ford below Muntgumery to do To John son of Alan. Whereas the king lately sent certain persons to to make amends, as above, and to make a firm peace or a truce the king and him, [and] his envoys were able to find no peace the same L. or measure touching the amends to be made, or the or truce to be entered into; and because it is expedient that he be against assaults of the said L.; the king commands him to for the sufficient defence of the march, so that the lands of the or of himself may not by his default suffer danger, and if necessary may resist the said L. at an opportune season. In the same manner it is written to Walter de Clifford, Herbert son of Ihomas Corbet, Walter de Baskervill, John Lestrange, H. earl of Henry de Aldithele, John de Monemue, Ralph de Mortuo Mari, Picard, William de Stutevill, John son of Alan.
