Commission to William de Amblya, Richard Mauduyt, Giles de Wathesham and William de Burnevill, shewing that, because the king has heard that the said Giles and William de Burnevill are advocates of the prior of Brisete and that William de Batesford has granted in almoin to the prior the whole tenement which he had in Batesford and which he held of Robert de Tateshal and Robert held of the king in chief, and that the prior has arramed an assize of novel disseisin touching the tenement before the king against the said Robert, and it is manifestly contrary to the liberty which the king granted in common to the magnates in the realm of England that any one should grant his whole tenement in almoin, he commands them to respite the said assize until the coming of the justices at the first assize in those parts or until the king's first coming to those parts. . 285 MEMBRANE Qa.
