Indemnity to the mayor, sheriffs, aldermen and commonalty of London of under the following circumstances; whereas the king when about to ass beyond the seas charged them to keep the peace in his absence and inflict swift punishment on any who broke the same, and they IJI. Parr IL 227 hearing that a disturbance had arisen between the fishand the skinners, went to appease the same, and attached of the rioters, and whereas Thomas son of John Haunsard, John Brewere and others assaulted them and rescued those attached, and said Thomas with a drawn sword laid hands on Andrew Aubrey, mayor, to strike him down, and John severely wounded one of the serjeants, the said Thomas and John were on that account forthwith and in the hall of pleas of the city called le Gihall, before mayor and sheriffs, convicted, and by the mayor, sheriffs, aldermen commonalty were adjudged to death and beheaded in a street of the called le Chepe.
