Inspeximus and confirmation of a licence dated Thursday after the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, in the present year, by Adam bishop of Worcester to John bishop of Winchester to grant in mortmain a messuage in Stretford upon Avene, held in chief, lying in Corn Street between a tenement late of Margery Helle and a lane called Tynkereslone, extending in length toa tenement in the said lane late of William Avereye, and in breadth from the lane to a tenement late of John Strech, to a chaplain, known as the keeper of the chantry at the altar of St. Thomas the Martyr newly built by the bishop of Winchester in a wing on the south side of Holy Trinity Church, Stretford, to find five other chaplains to celebrate divine service daily at that altar.
