A charter of Richard the Butler, addressed to Hugh, earl of Chester, and others, granting in frank almoin to the nuns, on his mother Gunnora taking the veil, two dwellings (mensuras) now divided into three, in which dwell Baldwin and Elstard and Aschetil, and also 5s. rent yearly, not only for his mother taking the veil but also for the souls of his father and Randolph the earl. That is the charter of the lands which they have in le Lorimersrowe against the abbey of St. Werburga, Chester, of which the said (sic) Matthew the goldsmith and Alice have taken two parts at fec-farm, paying 16s. yearly, Membranes 19-16 and Roger le Barbour and Emma Colfox his wife held the third part, paying 3s. 4d. yearly. A charter of R. de Cliford releasing to them all his right in a land between Weverham and Walriscote which Ranulph, sometime reeve of Weverham, enclosed and paid to him 4d. yearly, as the stream divides which descends from le Bache to the water of Wevere, claiming nothing except prayers and orisons. A charter of William de Venables granting to them in frank almoin a messuage and a bovate of land from his demesne in Heclesenne. A charter of Hugh de Tywe granting to them in frank almoin two cultivated plots (cultuwras) in Old Waverton called Solme Greneforlong and Overe Forlong by the bounds from Fridaieslake on the east to Wynesfordheth and so descending towards the south to Crokedeforlong and thence towards the west by Crokedeforlong to Solmegrenes and so ascending towards the north to Frydaieslake, with common of pasture of the grove of Waverton called the common grove and housbote and haybote and quittance of pannage for their own swine in the grove and all other easements, and common pasture in High Waverton as his other neighbours have, save in masttime (tempore pessone), viz. from Michaelmas to Martinmas, rendering yearly half a mark of silver and doing nothing for the same except orisons. A charter of John called the Noble, citizen of Chester, and Eva Dobeldai his wife granting to them in frank almoin the lands late of Ameria the wife of German Dobelday, viz. the land towards the east gate lying between the land of Robert Salomon and the land of Laurence the younger, a plot of land in the little street of St. John the Baptist lying between the land late of Andrew Gardin and the land of St. John and land without the east gate lying between the land late of Simon son of Alan and the land late of Hugh Pargamenar , with all liberties, easements and commodities and all buildings, claiming nothing but orisons, so that from the rents of these lands on the day of their anniversary each nun shall have 12d. of silver, and the rest shall be for the fabric of the church, and if any warden of the house or prioress or anyone else shall put the rents to other uses the ordinary of the place shall have free power to distribute them. A charter of Gralam de Rotundo Campo granting to them in frank almoin, except for orisons, a ficld situated between Holedene and Ruhasale, surrounded on one side by a torrent and on the other by the old ditch as the ditch leads to a stream which is on the east side nearer to Hordawic with pasture and other necessaries, saving oak and his pannage (phahdnayio), viz. the field which Richard de Ruhecamp his father formerly granted to them in charity, and a bovate of land in Lethe viz. in Crochadeleth which his mother Mabel de Menulwaryn granted to them, viz. the bovate which Candalan held, with all appurtenances and commodities.
