Whereas John de Harleston, Thomas Sees and John Saunby of Lincoln, merchants, about Martinmas, 19 Richard II, shipped certain wools and wool-fells in the port of Kyngeston on Hull to take to the staple of Calais, the customs and subsidies amounting to 1581. 8s. 4d. (sic), for which sum they were bound to the late king, and these were unfortunately sunk and lost at sea, and the said sum was to be paid at the rate of 20 marks yearly at cont. Exchequer, and 38, 10s. have been paid and 1201. 8s. 4d. remain to paid and the said John de Harleston and Thomas and Agnes, late the of the said John Saunby and executrix of his will, have been sumto answer for the same, the king hereby pardons to them this sum all that pertains to him.
