Inspeximus and confirmation to James Maynwaryng, present patron of the under-mentioned chantry, of a charter of Edward, prince of Wales, earl of Chester, Ponthieu and Montreuil, dated at Byflet, 25 June, 35 Edward I. granting licence for Henry de Elreton, burgess of Carnarvan, to build a chantry chapel in the town of Carnarvan on his burgage there, rented at 12d. yearly, which the prince gives to him quit of all service, and to assign to the chapel the said burgage and 30 acres of land in Carnarvan, rented at 2d. yearly for each acre, for the sustenance of a chaplain.
