Grant for four years of pontage to be collected by Gervase son of Gervase de Clifton, Stephen le Haut of Keggeworth, and Walter de Brampcote, or their deputy, upon all wares for sale crossing the bridge of Keegeworth for the repair thereof, which bridge is on the confines of the counties of Nottingham and Leicester, or passing through the towns of Keggeworth and Radeclif, or their fields, to the said town of Keggeworth. By K. and C. Insperimus and confirmation of divers charters of the infirm of the hospital of St. Mary Magdalen, Boulogne, viz. I. Charter of king Henry [1.] granting 201. of rent in the manor of Boutona as Eustace, count of Boulogne, had granted it to them for food and clothing, and as Count Stephen his nephew (nepos meus), of whose fee the manor is, confirmed it to them. Witnesses, Robert de Sigill , William son of Odo; at Rouen. II. Charter of king Stephen confirming the grant of the above rent out of the said manor of Buctona; witnesses, Rt. the Chancellor, H. Bigot and W. de Alb [ini] the Butler, W. Penr , John the Mar [shal], W. the Monk (monachv), Richard de Bolonia, and Baldwin the Clerk (clerico); at Rouen. III. Charter of king Henry III. confirming the above grant, and confirmation thereof, of the manor of Bucton, co. Kent. Witnesses E [gidius] , bishop of Salisbury, William de Valencia, the king's brother, Ingeram de Fednes, John Mansell, treasurer of York, Robert Walrand, Ebulo de Montibus, Imbert Pugeys, and Master Nicholas de Plumpton, archdeacon of Norfolk. Dated at Boulogne sur Mer, 18 July, 46 Henry III.
