Commission to Thomas Mountgomery, knight, William Grene, esquire, Roger Philpot, John Brewod, John Harlyng, Robert Plummer and the sheriff of Essex to enquire into the petition of Clement Spice that whereas Richard Parker, esquire, was seised of a messuage called Combertons and 70 acres of land, 10 acres of meadow and 6 acres of wood in Felsted, co. Essex, in his demesne as of fee in time of Henry VI and received the esplees thereof and enfeoffed Thomas Tyrell, knight, John Fray, Roger Spyce, Richard Holmsted of Feldsted, Robert de Bury, Thomas Humphrey, William Cornysche and the said Clement of the same and they were seised thereof and the said John and Roger afterwards died and the others survived and were seised of the premises on 4 March, 1 Edward IV, and afterwards, and by an act in Parliament at Westminster, 4 November, 1 Edward IV, it was ordained that John Penycok late of Waybrigge, co. Surrey, esquire, should forfeit all his possessions, by an inquisition taken at Stratford Langthorn, co. Essex, before Robert Radclyf, esquire, then escheator in the county, by virtue of his office, on Friday after the feast of St. Mary the Virgin, 7 Edward IV, it was found that the said John Penycok was seised of the premises in his demesne as of fee and they were worth 26s. 8d. yearly and John Berners, in the county of Essex, esquire, had occupied them since 4 November, 1 Edward IV, and they were taken into the hands of the said late king and the said Thomas Tyrell and others were expelled, and afterwards the said Thomas, Richard Holmsted, Robert, Thomas and William died and the right in the premises belonged to the said Clement, and by letters patent dated 27 January, 7 Edward IV, the said late king granted the premises to Thomas Bourchier, knight, and the heirs male of
