Mandate to Thomas Fuitz Johan, earl of Kildare, justiciary of Ireland, to receive the fealty of Patrick, sacristan of St. Mary's, Louth (Luueth), and to restore to him the temporalities of the abbey of St. Peter and St. Paul, Cnok, to which he has been preferred by David, chancellor of Armagh, vicar-general of Stephen, archbishop of that diocese, who has quashed the election made by the prior and convent there. Although he has not presented the said vicar-general s letters according to custom, and it is net certain that the royal assent is necessary, yet if he bring the archbishop's letters in due form, the justiciary is to receive his fealty, first taking from him letters patent, sealed by the chapter, that this grace shall not prejudice the king nor be drawn into a precedent.
