Licence for the prior and convent of Coventry to elect a bishop, Adam Royston. de Wolveleye, the sub-prior, John Bacon, the precentor of that house having come to the king with letters patent of the chapter, and petitioned for licence to elect a successor in the room of R. late bishop of the said place. Master Luke de Ely and Henry de Cornubia, canons of the church of St. Chad, Lichfield, bringing news of the death of the said bishop, have like letters of licence to elect. Jan. 14.
