Exemplification of letters patent, 12 September, 22 Edward I., found upon the Chancellor's Rolls of the late king, the originals of which have been lost, granting a licence, notwithstanding that the sheriff of the county of York returned after inquisition ad guod damnum that it would be to the king's prejudice, to Roger de Moubray, who was going to Gascony on the service and by command of the king, to grant, in fee, to Miles de Stapelton 16 acres of waste in Hovingham by Wath, held in chief.
