Subsequently his body was cut down from the gallows - and taken for burial tu the cemetery of St. John of Leye, in accordance with the privilege of the brethren of St. John of Jerusalem in England his name being discovered on their roll, when he was found to be alive, and thereupon he abjured the realm.
