Whereas discords had arisen between the men of England and the men of Florence, count of Holand and Seyland, by reason of depredations committed on both sides, and lately a treaty was ut length made before the king and council, in the presence of the count, to settle the said discords and establish peace, and it was provided that John de Luvetot and another of the king's subjects should be appointed to go to the parts of the count to hear, together with subjects of the count, the plaints of the king's men of their injuries at the hands of the count's men, to enquire thereof and to receive satisfaction and amends for the same; and in like manner, two of the count's men should come to the realm, and together with certain of the king's subjects, do the like with respect to injuries committed against the count's men the king has appointed the said John and Master Henry de Newerk, arclideacon of Richmond, to hear and determine the said business according to the above ordinance. 12.
