Gift to the king's merchants, James Nicholas, Bartholomew de Barde and the other merchants of the society of the Bardi of Florence, for their losses by loans to the king not having been repaid at the appointed dates, of 2,000 marks, namely, 1,000 marks out of the first issues of the coinage in the county of Cornwall, and the balance out of the first moneys received by the collectors in the city of London on account of the subsidy, over and above the customs, granted to the king by native and foreign merchants on wools, hides, and wool fells exported.
