Inspeximus and confirmation of letters patent, dated on Monday after St. Laurence the Martyr, 1852, of Howel Seys, abbot of the church of St. Mary, Whiteland, and the convent of that place to the king's clerk John Gogh, archdeacon of St. Davids, parson of the church of St. Michael, Abercowyn, setting forth that, whereas the said John impleaded them in the county of Kermerdyn, by writ of uérum pending before Robert Clement, lieutenant of the justice of the prince of South Wales, of 24 acres of land and 5 acres of meadow in Abercowyn, in which plea he, with the assent of Reynold, bishop of St. Davids, and the chapter of the same place, released to them all right which he and his successors had, by reason of his archdeaconry or of the church of St. Michael, Abercowyn, in the aforesaid tenements, and in all lands of Ostirlowe and Abercowyn, any tithes, oblations and obventions and the garden pertaining to the said church excepted, they had granted to him as parson of that church, and his successors, 60s. of rent out of their lands in Ostirlow and Abercowyn. If they at any time do anything in contravention of the said deed, they shall be held to the archdeacon and his successors in 10l. of pure debt, the deed remaining of force.
