Licence, after inquisition ad quod damnum made by Thomas de Aston, escheator in the county of Hereford, and for 40s. which Henry de Hereford, chivaler, will pay to the king, for the said Henry to enfeoff John Heusom, parson of the church of Abenhale, of the manor of Mortford, held in chief, and for him to re-grant the same to the same Henry and Margaret his wife, in tail, with reversion to Henry and his right heirs. And the 40s. have been paid in the hanaper. 20. Whereas John Coket has been indicted of aiding and receiving John atte Wode and others, indicted of the death of a merchant stranger, killed in Caynhopark, and of his goods plundered, and of receiving eight oxen stolen in distant parts by strangers, well knowing that they were stolen, . Parr II. 801 and of this that John Baud, by his order, broke the close of Thomas de Adyngrave at Wyliton, and felled and carried away sixty-nine trees and other goods, also of having taken by extortion from the same Thomas goods to the value of 10/. to the use of Elizabeth, lady of Latymer, by her order, also of having, when deputy of William de Dunstable, then receiver of the king's victuals, taken, because of his office, from Thomas Stokkere at Godewyk, five sheep, worth 1 mark, and from Maud Lavender, one quarter, from Lettice Judde, six bushels, and from John de Derham, ten bushels, of malt, worth 16s. 8d. without any payment or tally made thereof; the king, at the request of Walter de Bentele, captain and the king's lieutenant of the duchy of Brittany, has pardoned the said John the suit of the peace and whatever else pertains to the king in the premises and any consequent outlawries.
